the yellow pillow (aka 'hugging pillow') is about a hundred years old and has been with me since I was a child.
the doona could be better, it's just a cotton one. I'd love a feathery hotel style one but unfortunately my room is warm enough
the bedlinen is my pride and joy - super silky/cool cotton for the sheets, soft chambray for the doona and jersey for the 'hugging pillow'

i wonder where G was? i think it was because it was a work day.

stuffed animal of the day: story goes that, in 1731, king frederick i of sweden received a lion skin as a gift from the bey of algiers. the taxidermist tasked with mounting it had never seen a lion in real life, and only had a vague idea of what one was supposed to look like.
the resulting monstrosity (above) remains on display at gripsholm castle for all to see. as redditordamage02 points out, it makes you wonder how wrong all our dinosaurs sculptures are.

these photos i took of Michaela's exhibition last year have done their rounds around the internet (all thanks to Amy). Michaela makes the most beautiful work and whenever i look at the analytics report for the work blog i'll see a few links back to these photos i did, which is nice. i still like these photos, which is good.

the funny thing is that when i took them i thought my camera was in trouble as i couldn't focus properly, so the way these photos turned out were quite by chance. (turns out i accidentally changed the focus in the viewfinder - silly me)

made using leftover 8ply merino wool from Yarn Barn that I had after finishing my cushion.

i am happy with how they turned out, but next time i'll get the length in between wrist and thumb right!

blue >>> moss stitch scarf for elise. this is such a labour of love, i really underestimated this project. it's currently about 30cm wide and 1.25m long, and i am only halfway... it takes about 5 minutes to knit one row so this could be taking quite a while. but when i finish it will be the most awesome scarf and i will be so happy to see it go to a good home! also made from 8ply merino wool from Yarn Barn.

red >>> knitted using a new stitch, a spongy 'fisherman's rib'. this is going to eventually become a loop scarf. made from 12ply cashmerino aran (merino, microfibre, cashmere) from Debbie Bliss.

i also finished up a slim moss stitch scarf (same as the one i made earlier in yellow, white and pepper) for my friend Dani. Busy!
